Flickr is my favorite photo community/site/service.
I’ve been a member since quite early (october 2004)
I really see no reason why we should keep displaying our pictures like it was 2003/2004 (remember Fotolog? Olhares.com? They standardized 500px as default width).
We all have broadbands and 1024+ monitor resolution. Why can’t we just display photos with a larger design? You already use it with HD Videos.
I’m sure you might say: but you can always click “all sizes” or use the “slideshow” mode. Frankly? Flash is bad for our health. You have a great design, just make it larger for the photos too.
We have one great example that this can be done in a outstanding way: Boston’s Big Picture blog.
